If you're not convinced and you're not sure if you should invest time into developing your own marketing strategy? I want you to ask yourself these three questions.

  1. Do you know how much money you make because of your marketing activities?

  2. Do you know which marketing activities are bringing in new patients for you or which ones have just not worked at all?

  3. Can you financially show the results of your marketing activity? So if you spent $100 on an ad, do you know how much money that has actually brought into your practice?


If you don't know the answer to any of these questions, here are 3 reasons why I would advice you spend time on developing your marketing plan

  1. You have a great chance of success with your marketing activities if you spend the time developing a marketing strategy, over 500% greater chance of success(1). And that's because you've created a focus on what's going to work for your practice vs what's not going to help you reach your goals. This insights you gather from this process will help you develop messages that resonate with your target audience/patient

  2. Provide you with a much clearer direction and focus on what you can say yes to and what you say no to. For example, If someone came to you, say, hey, you need to advertise in our paper or you need to actually be on TikTok, you can actually answer confidently yes or no, based on whether it will help you reach your goals developed in your marketing strategy.

  3. The marketing activities that you implement are 400% more likely to be successful because of the insights you gathered through this marketing strategy process(2).

You'll understand what your competitors are doing well, what they don't do so well, uncover gaps and trends occurring in the market that you could potentially take advantage of?

The power of a marketing roadmap is exploring the following and gathering valuable insights

  1. The market you compete in

  2. Market trends impacting your business

  3. Your target patient

  4. The patient experience

  5. Reviewing your competitors

2. Set your Direction

Once you've explored your market environment, you can distill it down into a clear direction or strategy for your marketing

  1. Understand your practice strengths and weaknesess

  2. Understand potential opportunities and threats to your practice

  3. Position your practice in the mind of your current and future patients

  4. Identify your marketing goals

3. How do you get there?

Now you know where you need to focus and the direction you need to take, what actions do you need to implement to reach your goals. You will explore which marketing activities are applicable for your target audience and which messages will resonate.
